A challenging and fun event that tests both strength and endurance. This well-known and competitive Bavarian strength contest sounds much easier than it actually is.
The goal is simple, hold a full stein at shoulder height, parallel with the ground as long as possible. If the contestant waivers (or spills), he/she is eliminated.
How long could you last?

POLKA LESSONS BY TIM WESTEMEYER & KATHY HULSE (12:30 AND 4:30)
Tim and Kathy have been dancing together for 10 years, since meeting at a polka dancing event. They travel around to various polka festivals, entertain at assisted living and long-term care homes around Iowa, and look forward to providing lessons at this years' Galena Oktoberfest. Tim is of German descent and is from Dubuque, Iowa, and Kathy is Czechoslovakian and from Duncan, Iowa. They attended Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany a few years ago, and it was a highlight of their lives.
